Emmanuel Martinez is an investigative data reporter at The Washington Post. Before joining The Post, he held the same position at nonprofit investigative newsrooms, the Markup and Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting, where he used data, statistics and programming to tell stories. His previous work has surfaced evidence of discriminatory lending practices that lenders had previously denied existed. He has also reported on wildfires in the western United States and water shortages in California’s Central Valley.
