Just a suggestion. Everyone should use Mediafire.com to upload their files. There's no annoying wait time, and also you can download multiple files at the same time. For free!

it's a different situation for the uploader tho... (which site is faster uploading, whether they have a premium or are collecting points are taken into account)

Mediafire has a cap on upload sizes and provides no rewards for the people who are putting hours upon hours into uploading. I tend to upload all of my albums via MediaFire regardless, but I definitely prefer MegaUpload for it's speed, upload sizes and rewards.
Yo shorty black you're buggin' out!

Mediafire deletes inactive links much sooner than most other upload sites. You might like the fact that you can download shit simultaneously, however in the end all mediafire threads end up with multiple requests to "REUP YO!".

And as has been mentioned, archives over 100mb must be uploaded elsewhere or split into multiple part archives, which can be a pain in the ass for the uploader. If the links here aren't good enough, a google search with the correct search terms will find you what you need.

EXAMPLE:
site:mediafire.com nujabes "metaphorical music"

And you can replace mediafire.com with whatever site you prefer, but uploaders are giving up some of their time to share the love... can't really ask more than that for free shit imo.

If you think about it, you're waiting 45-60 seconds for 45-60 minutes of music... Not a bad compromise at all. Check your email or something.

I'm fine with the 45-60 second waiting period.
It's the 30-60 minute waiting period between downloads that gets me.
I don't got 4 hours to sit around downloading music. I wanna download all in bulk, and listen to it at work, or the gym, or on the go.
I mean, I'm cool with whatever I can get, don't get me wrong.
But, imo, megaup is the shit.

Some of you guys should check out a Download Manager like FreeRapidDownloader or JDownloader if you don't already have one. I don't really care what uploaders use since I just copy a bunch of links and the programs automatically start downloading them when the time limit you have to wait is up and I can go and do whatever else while they finish. The only problem I have with uploaders are when they use random sites, which I haven't run into here yet, but otherwise a good download manager makes it all easier, unless you're really impatient and can't wait the 10 minutes it takes to download an album and the few seconds between, which for the most part you can find ways around.

A week ago I discovered the merits of Chrome + Megaupload

just d/l Chrome, go to Extensions, search for 'megaupload', install and fly like an eagle ;)

i still think you guys need to use multiupload. it's far superior to using just one site. links stay active longer and since no one can ever agree on just one hosting site, you give the leeches an option. i generally try to do this unless it's just a simple request for someone.

Why on earth should uploaders try to appease leechers? That has to be one of the most sad states of e-existence. Uploading merely to be appreciated by other people.

I'm out for those rewards son (and to occasionally get the word out about dope artists).

Uploaders are out for the rewards, not pleasing leechers. I would personally like 10,000 leechers to download my MU links so I can get a free month of premium.

Whatever.

edit: My mindframe has always been about sharing with the community and trying to spread good hip hop to people that can appreciate it. I have several premium accounts so I have no personal preference for my own personal gain. This place is full of holier than thou ass holes and I would hate to see this place turn into the RGF or RRT of ughh (oghh?) ... There's too much animosity on this board and it isn't what this place should be about. I can't go into a thread without seeing people spurning other ideas and bitching. I'm no saint and I've started shit when I could've been the bigger man and turned the other cheek, but isn't the whole point of this about sharing a common interest and not about "that crack"? Premium accounts are cheap as hell considering all the albums, movies, games, apps you will inevitably end up downloading for free, and I don't think that getting premium points should be the be-all, end-all.

When did it stop being cool to be nice?

I know I'm highly opinionated and it's not my forum and that I'm ranting in the wrong thread to the wrong people, "so sue me-- no, don't sue me. That is opposite the point I'm trying to make." I just hate petty bullshit and think we need a little everybody love everybody up in this.

Otherwise, it will end up driving quality members away or silencing their voices on the boards.
