shit yea dude, I love Roland Kirk, definitely one of the most interesting/unknown characters in jazz history. unfortunately it seems those not in the know assume he was some circus act, but he could definitely play, and his knowledge of different styles was superb, from bebop to free jazz to contemporary soul and pop. there definitely was no one like him. if you haven't heard it check him out on Roy Haynes' record "Out of the Afternoon"
